At Locus of Life, I strive to address any questions you may have and help ease your concerns. Here, I have compiled answers to common questions about my services and how to use them. If you have further queries or would like to discuss your individual needs, please feel free to get in touch.

How do I book a counselling session?

What happens in the initial consultation?

Please contact me via the contact form on the website or by email (locusoflife@hotmail.com). We will arrange a mutually convenient time for your first counselling session.

How much does counselling cost?

A 50-minute counselling session costs £60. Payment is required in advance via bank transfer. Please note that cancellations made within 48 hours will incur the full charge.

The initial consultation is a free 30-minute session. During this time, we will discuss your concerns and explore how we can work together. I will also take the opportunity to understand your needs and goals for the counselling process.

What type of counselling do you offer?

My approach to counselling is primarily based on the Person-Centered Approach, but I also incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I prioritise empathy and unconditional positive regard, and work collaboratively with you to support your journey.

Do you offer online counselling?

Is it okay to have just one session?

Yes, I offer online counselling sessions. These can be conducted via platforms like Zoom, so you can attend from anywhere.

Can I discuss any kind of issue?

Yes, a one-off session is perfectly fine. However, for deeper issues, I would generally recommend multiple sessions. We can move at a pace that suits you and your needs.

How can I tell if counselling is working?

Yes, you can discuss any issue that is important to you. Whether it’s cultural adjustment, relationship difficulties, or a desire for self-understanding, my counselling services are flexible and can support a wide range of concerns.

Counselling helps you process your emotions and thoughts, and find solutions. Progress is often felt by the client as they begin to make changes or gain new insights. Many clients begin to feel different when they start reflecting and noticing positive changes in themselves.

Is my privacy protected?

Yes, all sessions are strictly confidential. Your personal information is kept secure, and will not be shared with anyone without your consent, except as required by law.
